For non-urgent needs, continuity of care is best maintained with your regular GP during daytime hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an appointment to see the GP?

Out of Hours, the GP encourages patients to book online for quick and convenient access to care. However, we also welcome walk-in patients. Please note that waiting times for walkins may vary depending on clinic flow and demand.

What payment methods do you accept?

All payments must be made prior to consultation. Patients can securely pay online or at the clinic before seeing the doctor.

We accept cash and card payments.

If additional services or treatments are required during your consultation, any extra charges will be clearly discussed beforehand.

Do you accept insurance or medical cards?

We will issue a detailed receipt that you may submit to your health insurance provider for reimbursement. Please note that any reimbursement process is solely between the patient and their insurer.

We currently do not accept medical cards. Our services are provided on a private basis only

Can I get a prescription refill?

As an Out of Hours GP service, we primarily manage acute medical conditions and minor illnesses. We do not routinely provide refills for chronic prescriptions, though in certain cases, we may issue a short-term supply (up to one week) if clinically appropriate.

What should I do if I need urgent care outside your opening hours?

If you require urgent care outside our operating hours, please:

• Contact your regular GP during daytime hours

• Visit the nearest Accident & Emergency Department, or

• Dial 999 for emergency

What medical emergencies do you not treat?

We do not treat severe or life-threatening emergencies, such as:
• Severe chest pain or suspected heart attack
• Head or spinal injuries
• Deep lacerations requiring sutures
• Stroke symptoms (slurred speech, facial drooping, or paralysis) In such cases, please visit your nearest Emergency Department immediately.

Can I call and speak to a doctor for advice?

Yes — patients can book a telephone consultation with our GP for professional medical advice. Consultation fees apply for phone appointments.

How do I get my test results?

At present, our GP clinic does not offer blood testing or laboratory investigation services. Patients seeking blood investigations may be referred to an appropriate provider or service.

Important Patient Information

• Our Cork GP clinic has a zero-tolerance policy for the prescription of controlled or addictive medications, including sedatives, benzodiazepines, and strong opioids. These will not be issued under any circumstances.

• We also maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy against any form of aggressive or abusive behaviour toward staff or other patients. Respectful interaction ensures a safe environment for everyone
